My name is Makayla Cowley. I am USOA Teen Utah. My platform is called rise above and it is focused on helping homeless teens in Utah. My goal is to help these teens by getting them the resources they need to be successful in life. I have done a sock drive and a coat drive to help them stay warm during the winter. My family and I were also able to participate in Thanksgiving hero’s. By doing this we were able to deliver Thanksgiving meals to those who were not able to afford it for themselves. Doing service is such an amazing part of the pageant program and I’m so lucky to be able to help others. Some of my hobbies include painting, drawing and doing hair. I love painting things to give to my family and friends to put on their walls. I am also currently enrolled in the JATC (junior academy for technical careers) where I am able to learn hair design and get a head start on my career. I’m so thankful to be able to hold this title and can’t wait to see what this year brings.
